redacted desert
this exhibition is about ownership of land and art and who has access to it. it looks at who gets to represent and who does not. all of these images are from a piece of land art owned and run by the Dia art foundation. they copyright all images taken and will not allow any reproductions. i have redacted the images to highlight the bizarre nature of this ownership. coming from ireland we have a sense of loss and a history of representation from the outside: art is inherently ideological and having access to land and art and aesthetic understanding should be free from privatization.
